Pilates is a way of life, not just an exercise program. Joseph Pilates taught uniform development and flexibility of the whole body using breath, the spine and core as the root to perfect fitness and health.

Pilates is efficient movement, tapping into deeper layers of muscles to maximize performance. A stable body is the center of all efficient movement and balance. Unless stabilized through core strength, the body moves in distortion. Pilates helps to uncover movement weakness and works to correct it.

Pilates is a progressive method requiring an understanding of terminology and concept of working from the center. Within three months the body becomes more powerful, more flexible and more balanced.

Pilates is to stretch to strengthen and develop stamina. Fundamental movement patterns are taught in layers to connect the body first, then add next layer to develop strength, then another next layer to develop stamina.
